WCDMA Direct Conversion Front End in 0.13um digital CMOS
نویسندگان
چکیده
This project presents a direct-conversion 3G front end in 0.13um digital CMOS for use with the 2.1 GHz WCDMA frequency band. These receivers, widely used in 3G mobile telephony, require low power consumption and cost effective integration with other systems while maintaining high linearity and sensitivity. This project includes the design of a differential LNA, a double-balanced mixer and an on-chip quadrature VCO to realize a fully integrated front-end.

WCDMA Direct Conversion Receiver Front End
This paper presents a 2.14GHz RF front end for Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) receiver. The receiver is based on direct conversion architecture and implements a low noise amplifier (LNA) and a quadrature mixer in 0.25μm CMOS process. The receiver achieves a noise figure (NF) of 8.93dB, provides a gain of 17.14dB, has an IIP3 of -15.04dB and dissipate 72.15mW at 2.5V.

This paper describes a low noise variable gain amplifier (LNA) and a mixer for a WCDMA frontend receiver based on a direct architecture in 0.18-μm CMOS. The LNA provides a 50Ω input impedance and utilizes a tuned load to provide high selectivity. The LNA achieves a maximum small signal gain of 16.8 dB and a minimum gain of 4.6 dB with good input return loss. In the high gain and the low gain mo...
متن کاملA Digital-Front-End Enhanced Multi-Mode/Multi-Standard Wireless Receiver
This paper presents a multi-mode receiver concept for different transmission standards like UMTS and IS95. Due to the use of a Digital-Front-End (DFE) the requirements for the analog part of the well known direct conversion receiver (DCR) architecture decrease because channelization and fine frequency tuning are shifted from the analog into the digital domain. The adaptation of the channelizati...

A CMOS self-mixing-free front-end for direct conversion applications
A CMOS self-mixing-free RF front-end for direct-conversion receivers is presented, which includes a differential LNA, a ring oscillator, and I/Q double-balanced harmonic mixers and buffers. It operates at 930MHz, achieves 51dB gain and 5.8dB spot noise figure at 100kHz frequency, and consumes 53mW power. A 54dB self-mixing improvement over traditional architecture is obtained. The front-end is ...
